As a charter signatory of the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), Bristol Community College is making strides in the efforts to address climate change. Sustainnovation Consulting recently compelted a Carbon Action Plan for the BCC which included extensive greenhouse gas emissions inventory and a wind resource data collection project . As part of the plan development process, Sustainnovation Consulting’s Mark Myles, Rob Howe and Audrea Laffely conducted a planning workshop at BCC in collaboration with the college’s Climate Action Planning team. Our job was to tap their creativity, and we planned an intense but interesting event using different forms of communication. The engagement process is crucial for building momentum and support for the sustainability initiative and as such education and awareness are of great significance in building a sustainability strategy. Check out the ACUPCC website and pictures of the planning workshop.
